Nossa gostei muito desse site é muito 10! ja aprendi Iron Man foi a única por enquanto! porque baixei a pouco tempo mas aposto que vou aprender várias de qualidade !! e rápido muito legal parabéns ao dono <=D <;D
the intro can kinda be played on an acoustic guitar, but I can't really stretch all the way down to the hole. So, instead of: ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- -9---12--12---14-14---17-16-17-16-17---12-12--14-14---- -7---10--10---12-12---15-14-15-14-15---10-10--12-12----
... I prefer to go for: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------9-9---12-11-12-11-12-------------9-9---- -9---12--12-----7-7---10--9--10--9--10--12-12---7-7---- -7---10--10-------------------------------------10-10-----------
I agree with nick because I would so much rather doing ----------------------------- ----------------------------- ----------11---12--------- -----------9---10--------- ---------------------------- Than something like ---17--- ---15--- So basically go to the strings A and D ;). Nice site though will there ever be alternate versions?
@Velvetz: We are trying to keep alternate versions to a minimum . The hope is to work toward a 'crowdsourcing' approach, ala Wikipedia, at some point in the near future. Users would be able to make updates and fixes to help make each song better and eliminate looking through dozens of versions to find a good one as is necessary on other sites.
i'm still very new to guitar playing (started mid-august this year), but i think the start of this song sounds more accurate played this way:
e -------------------------------------------------- B -------------------------------------------------- G -------------------------------------------------- D -------------------------------------------------- A -9/12--12--12/14--14--15-14-15-14-15--12-12/14-14- E -7/10--10--10/12--12--17-16-17-16-17--10-10/12-12-
it sounds heavier played on the lower strings, and played higher up the neck it's a shorter distance between frets which means you don't have to stretch your fingers as far to get to the notes.
Well that's certainly one way to play it, but there's 2 problems there. One is that not every guitar has great access to those frets, making it difficult to do power chords on them, and the other is that the solo requires you to be down the neck near the nut, And there's not alot of time between the chorus and the beginning of the solo. If you play the chorus up there to begin with, you don't need to rush your hand to other end of the neck and will almost definitely be there on time. Your way isn't wrong, it's just not the preferred way to do it. Plus, you can get that same heavy sound by turning down the treble on your amp.
the tab that's up here is close to the first way i learned most of the song (most: not ready for solos yet). it's in a guitar hero tab book i got to help me learn (it's not very effective at that, but a little useful).
i started feeling like i was stretching my fingers more than i needed to, and i kept hitting the E string by accident, so i figured out where further up and using the E string i could play it.. i kept hitting it anyways, so might as well get some use out of it!
i didn't find iron man tabbed that way until after i took the time to figure that out. and it wasn't until after THAT, that i got the recent issue of guitar world that has a good iron man lesson. andy aledort plays the lesson the way i mentioned and he plays the solo starting on the 7th fret of the E as well. i suppose that if you move one part of the song you might have to move other parts too. i just thought that way looked right once i saw it played like that because there's not much moving of the hand at all.
i wouldn't say one way is better than the other, just sharing the way i find most comfortable and a couple reasons why. i just wish i could play the solos. lol
for anyone who's interested, i read a tony iommi interview, and apparently in the intro he frets the E on the 2nd fret of the D string at the same time as the open E that he bends behind the nut. that's how he gets that whammy-like effect, but without the use of the whammy!
can anyone explain me block 65 please...the release bending plus the hammer on to the 9 gives it a xtrange sound like meking a lot of notes please someone
im having trouble with the bend on the bass during the opening and lpart 88....i completly understand how to do this for guitar, but im having trouble with my bass. in case anyone is wondering, its a finger bass taht im using steel strings on. thanks
@storm this is very good no matter what the noobs say its almost there but i think u should use the 9the fret power chord on the e string coz it has more punch but other than tht its quite good congrats
@tom this maybe useful or it may not but here goes. its not really an easy solo if ur a begginer so id reccomend an easier song like nirvana smells like teen spirit just so u can look at an easier soloive been playing for 2 years and i still cant do it
