Required equipment (apart from guitar and amp):
- Pitch-shifting pedal controllable via MIDI (I use a Digitech Whammy IV)
- MIDI-USB cable
- Audio-processing program on PC (I use Cubase 5)
- Lots and lots of distortion
- A Cubase file that controls the Pitch shifting pedal (send me a mail if you need it)
Edit: added lyrics
1) Intro:
| e | |
| B | |
| G | |
| D | 5 |
| A | 3 |
| C | | Play 4 times, let it ring |
2) Riff:
3) Now comes the harder part, I suggest you downstrum this the whole time
synchronous to the rythm (so strum more than once, unlike the way I tabbed it):
| e | | | | |
| B | | | | 3 |
| G | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 5 |
| D | x | x | 6 | 3 3 |
| A | 3 | 6 | | |
| C | | | | |
| e | | | | |
| B | 4 | 4 | 4 | 6 |
| G | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 |
| D | x | x | 6 | 3 |
| A | 3 | 6 | | |
| C | | | | |
This riff is played 3 consecutive times, Matt starts singing when you play the
Riff for the second time.
There is a slight difference each time you play the riff, the first time you play
the above, then you play:
Second play:
| e | | | | |
| B | | | | 3 |
| G | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 5 |
| D | x | x | 6 | 3 3 |
| A | 3 | 6 | | |
| C | | | | |

Life... ...will flash before our eyes, so scattered and

free... ...from desolation and despair. And I

The third and final time you play:
| e | | | | |
| B | | | | 3 |
| G | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 5 |
| D | x | x | 6 | 3 3 |
| A | 3 | 6 | | |

away. Well I refuse to let you go. I can't get it
see... When we bleed we bleed the same. I can't get it
After this go straight into (hardest part of the song):
| e | | | | |
| B | 4 3 | | | |
| G | x x 5 | 7 5 | | |
| D | x x x | x x 8 | 10 8 6 | 6 5 5 |

| C | | | | | x2 |
right... Get it
right... ...since I met you.
4) Now you can rest a bit playing this:
Loneliness... ...be over. When will this
loneliness... ...be over?
5) Interlude:
6) And then repeat part 3 all over again, then instead of playing part 4, play:
| e | 3 | 3 | 4 | 4 |
| B | 4 | 4 | 4 | 6 |
| G | 5 | 3 | 5 | 5 |
| D | 5 | 5 | 6 | 3 |
| A | 3 | 6 | 6 | x |
| C | x | x | x | x | x4 |
Loneliness... ...be over. When will this
loneliness... ...be over?
When Matt repeats his line, change the pattern back to:
Loneliness... ...be over. When will this
loneliness... ...be over?"
7) Finale:
