Stomping Grounds
Couldn't find any Bela Fleck files so i put this under Victer Wooten.
written by Bela Fleck
performed by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones on Live Art I
bass played by Victor Wooten
bass line tabulature by Sam Garcia
As you can imagine it is nearly impossible to transcribe a song
played by Victor Wooten note for note. Like most other songs
that the Flecktones play, every time it is played it comes out a
little different. This is meant to be a guideline.
I did not tab out the 8 measure bass introduction, but
its pretty simple to figure out. It starts out with Vic
strumming a chord that I believe starts:
10th fret on the A
Hammer-On 11th to 12th fret on the D
and open on the G

After Part C, Bela does an harmonic thing for 8 measures
and Vic improvises around a G.
Then Bela goes once through a longer variation on Part D
while Vic just peddles eighth notes on a low G.
The band then comes back in at Part E

First solo section:
8 measures trading twos, bass & banjo
then 8 measures trading ones, bass & banjo
Then Vic and Bela play Part D in unison and go right into Part E

Second solo section:
16 measures trading ones, banjo, sax, bass & mandolin
(this instrumentation will vary depending on the version of the song)
then the band just has fun hitting off beat notes (mostly G) for 4 measures.
The entire band (except Future Man) then plays Part D in unison
and again goes right into Part E
After that, the song goes back to Part A with Vic jamming the
melody along with them.
Next, the band plays Part B in a round starting with the bass.
The song then ends on Part C.
